Ariana Grande Teases A New Song, Reportedly Called “Needy”

Ariana Grande returned to the recording studio in recent weeks, and she is already sharing teasers. The 25-year-old rolled out her last album, Sweetener, to strong reviews in August. However, that hasn’t stopped her from working on new material. “Music is the best medicine,” she explained in a post on Twitter earlier this week. Yesterday (October 4), she shared a snippet of a song, presumably from her current studio sessions. Fans expect that the track is called “Needy,” and it sounds like a refreshingly honest and relatable bop. “Passionate but I don’t give no fucks. I admit that I’m a little messed up,” she coos over the dreamy production.

“But I can hide it when I’m all dressed up. I’m obsessed with being loved too hard. Good at overthinking with my heart,” she adds. On the chorus she admits to being needy but puts a little spin on things. “Tell me how good it feels to be needed,” she asks her lover. It remains to be seen if and when we will hear final versions of the content Ari is currently working on. Fans are speculating that the “God Is A Woman” siren is working on material for a new album or perhaps a mixtape or EP. If so, they think that she will tour in support of both projects. The 25-year-old didn’t outright confirm the rumors. But she alluded to the possibility in a comment on Instagram.

Adding to the furor is the fact that producer Tommy Brown (AKA TBHits) posted a video of his own from inside the studio with Ariana. “Crazy tings happening,” he promised as music played in the background. The hitmaker has worked with the diva for years now, including on Sweetener tracks “Better Off,” “Goodnight n Go” and “Pete Davidson.” Hopefully they’re cooking up something fresh once again.

Listen to the teasers below and judge for yourself.
