Tove Lo Teams Up With Major Lazer For New Single, “Blow That Smoke”
It’s shaping up to be a big week for Tove Lo. Pop’s enfant terrible is rolling out a new single as well as a short film. Let’s start with the Swede’s new banger. A collaboration with Major Lazer, “Blow That Smoke” arrives on Wednesday (October 17) and sounds like a hit from the snippet she kindly shared on social media. “I got the keys to heaven now, baes all around and they got my mind spinnin'” Tove coos over a mellow, island-inspired beat. After the gut-wrenching content of her two-part concept album, it’s nice to hear the hitmaker have a little fun.
While “Bloke That Smoke” sounds like a blast, Blue Lips is expected to be considerably darker. The follow up to Lady Wood mini-movies Fairy Dust and Fire Fade, Tove’s latest cinematic endeavor (yes, it’s being premiered on the big screen) arrives on YouTube on Friday — that it, unless it’s removed for NSFW content. Blue Lips, the album, captures the initial euphoria of new love as well as the inevitable low when it all goes horribly wrong. Expect the visual to follow a similar narrative. Get a taste of both below.
