It has been a minute since Major Lazer landed a crossover pop hit, but that hasn’t been a priority. The genre-bending trio has been broadening their musical horizons by working with Latin hitmakers (queens Anitta and Pabllo Vittar) and African heavyweights like Burna Boy, Babes Wodumo and Mr. Eazi. All of those songs have been great, but “Blow That Smoke” — a collaboration with the always-divine Tove Lo — is giving me “Lean On” vibes. This mellow stoner anthem is an accessible bop with absurd replay value.

“This song has been long in the making and I’m so happy about this collab,” the Swedish pop star says of the future hit. “It started with me and Diplo just sending ideas back and forth until I sent this vocal I was unsure what to do with, and they made magic with it! To me the song is about the sweet escape from your troubles or just mundane life by being a bit reckless and romantic.” That really comes through in the fucks-free lyrics, which find Tove letting loose over slinky island beats.

“Bed is broken now I’m floating higher, this madness so good for me,” she sings on the catchy chorus. “Blow that smoke and let me love that fire, I don’t need no memories.” Listen to Major Lazer’s next smash below and stay tuned for the arrival of Tove’s Blue Lips mini-movie on Friday (October 18).
