Miss Moving On: Cher Lloyd Lands A Solid Hit With “None Of My Business”

The pop gods have been incredibly kind to us this year, and Cher Lloyd’s comeback is one of their latest deeds. The 25-year-old teased her imminent return and a new deal with Universal Music Group earlier this week. Today (October 18), she followed through on promises with the release of her new single, “None Of My Business.” And it turns out the English diva is as sassy and charismatic as ever. Over a breezy production courtesy of Hitimpulse, she makes it very clear that she has moved on from a former flame. “Damn, I heard that you and her been having problems. She likes to fight, I guess you both have that in common,” the “Oath” hitmaker declares on the opening lines. And she only gets sassier. “Started at the top, and now you at the bottom. But baby, this is none of my business.”

Although Cher’s new material is just as catchy as “Want U Back,” it could not be more different thematically. This is the hitmaker at her most liberated, and she has rarely sounded better. “I’ve waited so long for everyone to hear what I’ve been working so hard on, and ‘None Of My Business’ is a perfect taste of what’s to come.” she teased in a press release. “I’ve never been more excited to share my new music.” Hopefully this means that her third album is on the way in the near future. It has been two years now since she did the damn thing on her last solo single, “Activated.” Although her LP has been hit with delays, it seems like the stars have finally aligned.
