Kesha's Powerful 'Praying' Video
Kesha returns with powerful ballad 'Praying.' Watch the psychedelic video.

The tussle for Best Original Song at the Oscars is going to be epic. Any number of songs from A Star Is Born could get nominated, while Troye Sivan and Jónsi’s “Revelation” from the Boy Erased soundtrack is also a contender. Equally powerful and awards-worthy is Kesha’s “Here Comes The Change.” Co-written with Drew Pearson and Wrabel, the soaring protest song was written specifically for On The Basis Of Sex — an upcoming Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic starring Felicity Jones (in theaters December 25).

The Jonas Åkerlund-directed video arrived today (October 24) and it juxtaposes scenes from the movie with black-and-white footage of Kesha performing the song in a frilly gown that would make Loretta Lynn green with envy. That garment is the clip’s only extravagance, however. The “Praying” hitmaker wears no shoes or makeup. Instead, she performs the song while strumming her guitar and playing the harmonica. It’s striking, artfully composed and suitably stirring. Watch the former K$ do her thing up top.
