Madison Beer is gearing up to claim the title of pop’s latest Teen Queen. The 19-year-old made moves with the release of “Dead” last year. On it she delivers a (literal) dagger to the heart of an ex and one of the best lines in recent memory – “You say you can’t live without me, so why aren’t you dead yet?” It turns out that her ex hasn’t quite got the memo. Today (November 9), the “Home With You” hitmaker returns with her latest single, “Hurts Like Hell.” Co-written by Charli XCX, the banger features an equally pointed message. “My baby said he loved me. My baby said he need me. Gonna eat, sleep and breathe me out til the end. But then my baby went bad,” she growls over trap beats. “I guess he had a relapse. Had to sneak, cheat and bring me down. It had to end.”

But don’t get it twisted. Madison makes it very clear that she has come out ahead on the bone-jarring chorus. “And I hope it hurts like hell. You should’ve never let me go,” she coos. “I know I’m messing up your mind. The devil got you good this time, and I hope it hurts like hell.” A feature from Offset adds extra dimension. The Migos rapper is perfectly at home on the beat, and it is definitely possible to imagine the pair dominating radio in the coming weeks. Based on some of the promo footage on Instagram, it looks like they will also take YouTube by a storm with a sexy video. In it, the diva serves fierce looks alongside a crew of snarling dogs and tests out her aim with a knife. Revenge is best served sweet, and it looks like it may also notch the rising star a serious smash.
