An Audio-Visual Feast: Anitta Unveils Her Glorious ‘Solo’ EP & Videos

Brazilian pop goddess Anitta has come through once again. Today (November 9), she unveiled her Solo EP, and it is an audio-visual feast the likes of which we could never expect. On it, the rising star sings in three languages – Spanish, Portuguese and English. Trilingual queens only. But that’s not all. She also graced us with a video for each song. There is a lot to unpack here, but the Spanish-language “Veneno” emerges as a clear highlight. A sultry midtempo, it disguises some darker undertones as the “Medicina” hitmaker discusses an intoxicating romance. Those vibes carry over to the sinuous video, where she lays in the middle of a pit of writhing snakes. The end result is utterly entrancing, and this could very well become her next smash.

Pharrell Williams provides the production for her equally slinky “Goals.” Here Anitta gets a little more confessional as she addresses her insecurities. However, she fights back against them on the powerful chorus. “Shine. The rest of the stars are watching. You’re awesome, you’re unique for all time,” she coos. “Wind your body from the bottom to your crown. You’re a queen, you’re divine. That’s my goals.” The accompanying video is another striking affair. Dressed in a sparkling bodysuit, the diva delivers some tantalizing choreography under blue and purple lighting. Simple but undeniably striking, you will not be able to turn away.

Moving into Portuguese, “Não Perco Meu Tempo” closes the EP out with a dash of sass. The title translates to “I Don’t Waste My Time,” a message Anitta delivers to a lover over brassy beats. And the vibe carries over to the equally playful video. In it, several clones serve fierce looks as she interviews a lineup of potential partners.
