Lauv & Julia's 'There's No Way'
Lauv teams up with Julia Michaels' for the instantly catchy duet, 'There's No Way.'

Julia Michaels has been an unstoppable force as an artist (and songwriter) since breaking through with “Issues” in 2017. In addition to blessing our ears with gems like “Uh Huh” and “Jump,” she has also recorded endless features and even found her way on to a couple of soundtracks. The 25-year-old strikes again with a new song called “In This Place” from Ralph Breaks The Internet. The electro-pop anthem is considerably more adult that your usual cartoon fare, posing a philosophical question in the opening verse.

“Am I a baby pigeon sprouting wings to soar? Was that a metaphor for something more?” Julia ponders over staccato beats, before things all get a little weird and wonderful in the chorus. “My body, my spirit aligning in this, in this place called Slaughter Race.” Play it for your kids between “Let It Go” and “Baby Shark”! How did the song come about? “I’ve been a huge Disney fan for as long as I can remember, and Tom MacDougall had actually had written this song for [the movie],” she told Zane Lowe on Beats 1.

Mr. MacDougall then asked the chanteuse to put her own spin on it. “I asked my friend Ian Kirkpatrick to help me produce it and it was just such an amazing experience,” Julia beams. “I was so happy I got to be a part of it.” The hitmaker also spilled a little tea. “I’m actually putting out music in January. I’ve decided that I’m just not gonna wait anymore. I need to put it out and I want it to be out in the world. Cheers to that! Check out “In This Place” below.
