Is Ariana Grande Teasing Her “Thank U, Next” Video On Instagram?
Ariana Grande is pulling inspiration from classic films while promoting her chart-topping single, “thank u, next.” The 25-year-old channeled The First Wives Club when she performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this month. And it seems like she will reference a couple more fan-favorites in the official music video. Yesterday the diva hopped on social media to upload a handful of pictures alongside quotes from Mean Girls. The trend continued today (November 20), but this time she shared a trio of photos inspired by Legally Blonde. In one of them she is posing with Jennifer Coolidge, who played the beloved Paulette. I love when legends collaborate. “new best friend …. thank u, next,” Ari captioned the photo.
Although there is no official confirmation yet about purpose of the pics, the diminutive hitmaker heavily implied they are from behind the scenes of the video shoot. Additionally, fans are speculating she will reference two other movies in the final product. And it looks like she has already begun teasing the third. A photo appeared on Instagram of a doll house, and many assume it is the one from 13 Going On 30. We’ll have to wait and see what the final movie is, but we do know one thing. It will not be Clueless. Why? “it’s been done (and very well!) so we did some of my other personal favs,” Ari explained. Hopefully once she reveals the final movie, the “God Is A Woman” superstar will also share the release date with us.
Considering the incredible success of the track, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see something within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, “thank u, next” continues dominating streaming services. On Spotify it has been streamed an incredible 140 million times. The numbers have been enough to help her stay at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a second consecutive week. She also climbed into the Top 20 with her current Sweetener single, “breathin.” The lush anthem received a glamorous video earlier this month. Revisit it and check out some of Ari’s teasers below.
