She’s Coming! Miley Cyrus Confirms New Music Is On The Way

By now you have hopefully familiarized yourself with Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson’s sublime “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.” The sad banger ushered in the super-producer’s “Heartbreak Era,” and it is shaping up to be a critical triumph. In less than five days, the anthem amassed more than 7 million streams on Spotify. Meanwhile its socially conscious video – one of the best of the year – has been viewed in excess of 12 million times. One side effect of listening is that fans are hungrier than ever for new material from pop’s most successful ex-act. And, according to the 26-year-old, something is on the way in the new year.

During an interview with San Francisco radio station 99.7, the “Wrecking Ball” chart-topper assured hosts that she had plans to return to radio in 2019. “I don’t have any definite dates, but definitely in the new year you guys are gonna be hearing a lot more music,” she promised. It isn’t much, but it will have to do for now. Interestingly enough, Miley began working on material for her seventh album before last year’s Younger Now even dropped. The country-tinged collection did not hit as hard on the charts as previous material but was lush with earnest anthems like its underrated title track. “I’m already working on the next one. I’m already two songs deep on the next one,” she told People.

After expressing that she was “over” her sixth LP, fans speculate she will return to the urban-inspired beats that made Bangerz a critical success. If so, 2019 just got infinitely more exciting. I’m very much here for “Drive” 2.0! We should also keep an eye peeled for Ronson’s album, which features additional collabs with the likes of Lykke Li and King Princess. While we wait, revisit “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” below!
