Now is a good time to get acquainted with Aussie trio SAFIA. The alt/electronic hitmakers found breakout success with a series of clever features. “Take Me Over,” a collab with Peking Duk, went Top 10 and was certified double-platinum in their home country. Since then, the rising stars have continued to release bangers while touring with the likes of Twenty One Pilots. Their latest is called “Starlight.” An otherworldly delight, the anthem is about letting go. Since dropping in September, the single has amassed nearly 1.75 million streams on Spotify. It will get another push with the arrival of a trippy video.

Opting out of appearing in the visual, SAFIA instead utilized augmented reality to send viewers on an inter-dimensional adventure. Opening on Earth, the camera steadily approaches a wormhole, which kicks off a cosmic trip the likes of which you’ve never experienced before. “At its heart ‘Starlight’ is a song about letting go, all the creative choices represent that sentiment so we wanted to create a video that continued on with that theme,” the group explained in an exclusive statement. “For this reason, we wanted to make something that was world building and indicative of the song’s journey. Hopefully, this cosmic visual journey created will encourage you to get lost in the world of ‘Starlight’.”

Coming just ahead of SAFIA’s headlining tour dates across China and Australia, it’s a testament to the group’s creativity. We’re excited to partner with them to premiere the “Starlight” video below.
