MNEK Shows Off His Powerful Pipes On “Stopped Believing In Santa”
From his critically acclaimed debut LP to the songs he wrote for artists like Little Mix and Christina Aguilera, everything MNEK touched in 2018 turned to gold. That trend continues with the Brit’s first Christmas anthem. “Stopped Believing In Santa” arrived on Friday (December 14) and it’s every bit as miserable as the title suggests. “I stopped believing in Santa when you said, ‘Goodbye, love,’ the 24-year-old croons. “Was watching the snow fall, when you called to say we were through.”
MNEK goes full Grinch by the end of the song. “Why can’t December just be over real, real soon? Because Christmas isn’t Christmas without you.” There’s more than enough cheerful bops to go around at this time of year, so it’s about time that somebody dished up an alternative. It’s also nice to hear the singer/songwriter pull the vocal trigger. “Stopped Believing In Santa” serves vocals and real soul. In other MNEK news, it looks like he is about to drop a video for Language highlight “Girlfriend.” While we wait for that, check out his depressing Xmas tune below.
