It’s The Remix! Anitta & Becky G Join Maluma On “Mala Mia”

Christmas arrived a couple days early for fans of Latin pop. Today (December 21) is the day we get to hear Maluma, Becky G and Anitta on a track together. Earlier this week, the 24-year-old took to the skies to announce a remix of “Mala Mia” featuring the queens. The original has been streamed more than 136 million times on Spotify since dropping in August. With more than 171 million views on YouTube, its eye-popping video is also a viral sensation. Considering the trio’s combined star power, the reimagined version is sure to perform equally well. “It’s the remix. Pretty girls. Dirty boy,” Becky coos on the opening lines. From there, the hitmakers trade off vocal duties over the slinky production.

The only way to improve upon the collaboration is by releasing a joint video. All three of them have the magic touch when it comes to visual projects, and I’d love to see what they are capable of together. Either way, I expect to see “Mala Mia” surge back up the charts in the coming weeks. It already went Top 10 in Colombia and on Billboard’s US Latin chart, but it could easily soar even higher. The remix caps off a banner year for all three acts. Maluma’s involved the release of his third LP, F.A.M.E., and another duet with Shakira. With more than 1.1 billion views, Becky’s “Sin Pijama” video was one of the year’s most viewed releases. Meanwhile Anitta is still riding high off the release of her Solo EP.
