We’re only a couple days away from the end of 2018, which means that now is the perfect time to look back at everything that went down in pop music this year. We’ve already revisited 30 of the best music videos and forecasted some of the albums we are most excited to hear in 2019. Today we’re turning our attention to some of the most memorable photoshoots. With content ranging from Harry Styles’ farm-friend advertising campaign for Gucci to Jennifer Lopez’s gravity-defying Harper’s Bazaar cover, so many of our favs delivered truly iconic shots this year.

Here’s a quick run-down. Rihanna and Beyonce took flower crowns to another level in the pages of British Vogue and Vogue respectively. The “Man Down” hitmaker went for a more avant-garde style, while Bey’s historic set celebrated natural beauty. Meanwhile, Adam Lambert gave us his best interpretation of gay Jesus for Schon magazine. Charlie Puth put his incredible abs on display in Flaunt, and Christina Aguilera showed off a stripped back looked in Paper. I don’t have the words to adequately describe how strongly I feel about Hilary Duff’s Jif peanut butter campaign. The same could be said for Britney Spears’s turn as a model for Kenzo.

Lady Gaga kept us guessing what she’d be posting next on Instagram. 5H’s Normani and Lauren Jauregui both served face for a variety of publications this year. And they had a couple standouts. The “Love Lies” diva delivered ’90s bubblegum pop princess in Paper, while the latter went full femme fatale in Galore. Troye Sivan showed off his chic sense of style in Billboard, while Ariana Grande let her hair down from her iconic ponytail for British Vogue. Madonna celebrated her 60th birthday in Vogue Italia. You can’t forget Selena Gomez’s tenure as a biker chick in Harper’s Bazaar. And that’s just scratching the surface.

We compiled a gallery of some of the best and most unforgettable shoots up top. Peruse it and let us know if there is anyone else who we may have missed!
