Opening Night! Lady Gaga Launches Second Vegas Residency – ‘Jazz & Piano’

Lady Gaga is really establishing her dominance of Sin City. Last month, she took over Park MGM’s Park Theater to launch her first Vegas residency – Enigma. The greatest hits show features larger-than-life staging, memorable costumes and a bevy of hits. That alone would be enough to ensure Mother Monster is one of the hottest acts on the Strip. However, it was just a taste of what she has in store. Last night (January 20), she kicked off her second show – Jazz & Piano. Featuring “stripped-down versions of her hits as well as music from the Great American Songbook,” this one highlights the 32-year-old’s creative range.

And it looks like it will be another must-see. The Cheek To Cheek diva celebrated opening night of the residency in style. Draped in glamorous looks, she put her own spin on the classics and reimagined some of the brightest gems in her discography including “Poker Face,” “Born This Way” and “Bad Romance.” Gaga also paid tribute to her role in A Star Is Born by belting out a predictably perfect rendition of “La Vie En Rose.” Sadly, we have yet to hear a jazzed up version of “Shallow” or “Hair Body Face.” Hopefully those make an appearance at later shows. Last night also featured two celebrity appearances – Tony Bennett and Brian Newman.
