Tove Styrke Teams Up With RITUAL For Massive Banger, “Love Me Back”

After casually dropping one of 2018’s best albums, Tove Styrke returns with one of 2019’s first great singles. The Swedish pop star joins forces with RITUAL for a new banger called “Love Me Back.” Co-written with Emily Warren, the first cut from the UK trio’s upcoming Dreamers Never Learn album is a club record with massive crossover potential. It ticks all the essential boxes (big chorus, featured female artist and a smattering of acoustic instruments) and has unexpected emotional depth.

That is the common thread that runs through RITUAL’s new album. The songs all address matters of the heart. “Musically, I see it as somewhere between a modern electronic pop brand that has features with big artists,” Adam Midgely (one third of the group) says of the project. “Like a Daft Punk, Disclosure or Marshmello.” What is their point of difference? “[It has] real soul and depth, with meaning and emotion behind the lyrics that are all inter connected. And there’s this indie melancholy about it that’s more in keeping with the great British guitar bands like The Smiths right thru to Coldplay.”

Sounds good to me! Watch Tove run through a labyrinth in the striking video below.
