Julia Michaels & Niall Horan Perform “What A Time” On ‘Late Late Show’
Julia Michaels’ staggeringly good Inner Monologue Part 1 EP is bookended by two completely different, but equally great collaborations. The Selena Gomez-assisted “Anxiety” is a snapshot of mental illness and its debilitating consequences, while “What A Time” — a duet with Niall Horan — captures the adrenaline rush of young love. The singer/songwriter performed the latter on last night’s (February 18) episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden and absolutely nailed it.
Beginning the performance sitting on a makeshift park bench on a flower-covered stage, Julia belted out the first verse with the kind of emotional conviction that separates her from other rising stars. Niall then walked through the crowd, like a blast from the past, and joined her. They sounded incredible together and underlined that this is a hit waiting to happen. “Yesterday was filled with so many emotions,” the “Issues” hitmaker wrote on Instagram. “Thank you @niallhoran for shimmying every time I started to cry. You truly are one of the best friends a person could ask for.”
