Album Review: MØ's 'Forever Neverland'
The Danish pop star delivers one of the best albums of 2018 on her stellar debut.

is nothing if not prolific. After dropping one of the best albums of 2018 (Forever Neverland truly deserves your full attention), the Dane rolled out a remix with Foster The People and somehow found the time to record the theme song for an upcoming animated Netflix series called Moominvalley. Based on Tove Jansson’s classic Moomin books, the show recounts the story of Moomintroll and his family. It sounds like our hero also goes on something of a quest if “Theme Song (I’m So Far)” is any indication.

“Mama said when you fly away like a leaf in the wind, people rose from that other place where the bluebirds sing,” MØ sings on the charming ballad. “On the coast of my fantasy, there’s a hope for a change.” That leads to the heartstrings-pulling chorus. “I am far away from my home, finding my way, looking for stars in the storm,” she belts. “I found some roses to show they’re growing wild through the floor.” Other artists on the soundtrack include ALMA, First Aid Kit and Tom Odell.
