Emma Bunton is giving us what we really, really want: new music. Earlier this week, the hitmaker announced plans to spice up our lives with the forthcoming release of her album My Happy Place. The LP doesn’t arrive until April 12. However, today (February 27), we got a first taste with the unveiling of lead single “Baby Please Don’t Stop.” Written with assistance from Paul Barry and Patrick Mascall, the highly anticipated anthem is a retro-inspired, loved-up bop. “You can shake me down, you can wind me up, you can drive me crazy. Baby please don’t stop,” Baby Spice coos on the chorus. “I’m going out of my head, need to feel your love.”

Infectious and with plenty of replay factor, it sounds like a serious hit. And the accompanying video is suitably adorable. One viewing is sure to leave you smiling for the rest of the day. It also has us counting down the moments until Emma’s album arrives. The 10-track collection includes several collaborations including a reworking of Spice Girls’ mega-classic “2 Become 1″ with Robbie Williams. The 43-year-old reflected on hitting the studio again in a shared statement. “Being in the studio I just feel so happy. As you get older you feel more confident because actually your priorities change, and my family have become my focus, but this album is like the icing on the cake. Being able to write, record and perform is definitely that extra sprinkle of magic.”

The “Free Me” icon already has some promo lined up for the single as well. Later today she’ll deliver the first performance of “Baby Please Don’t Stop” on BBC The One Show. I’m also praying that fans will get to see it live when she reunites with Sporty, Ginger and Scary Spice on the road this summer. In the meantime, give the track a listen and check out the sweet video below!
