Ben Platt’s Hot Streak Continues With New Single “Grow As We Go”

Ben Platt’s pop career grows more exciting by the day. The Broadway superstar has dropped three songs since confirming plans to release his debut album Sing To Me Instead. He kicked things off with dual singles “Bad Habit” and “Ease My Mind” and returns today (March 1) with “Grow As We Go.” A stirring, string-led ballad, his latest is an evocative anthem about overcoming the odds with a loved one. “I don’t think you have to leave if to change is what you need. You can change right next to me,” he croons. “We’ll take it slow and grow as we go.” The 25-year-old’s voice is as beguiling as ever, and this may just be my favorite song off the project so far.

The accompanying video also serves as the conclusion to a trilogy that opened with “Bad Habit.” Directed by Nick Lieberman, it stars dancers Rudy Abreu and Effie Tutko. The duo deliver a stirring routine as Ben gets teary eyed in front of the camera. Simple but utterly riveting, it’s another serious win for the star. As the album’s March 29 release date looms closer, we’ll hopefully get to hear a couple more songs off the tracklist. As it stands, it is rapidly becoming one of my most anticipated projects of the year. In the meantime, watch the emotional video below!
