Billie Eilish Covers ‘The FADER’ With A Ziplock Bag On Her Head
Billie Eilish is arguably the biggest breakout star of 2018/2019. The 17-year-old is amassing the kind of streaming numbers that make record execs salivate and has made huge inroads on the Billboard Hot 100. Her last single, “Bury A Friend,” peaked at number 14 without so much as a TV performance. Needless to say, expectations are astronomical for her debut LP, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? (due March 29). In the lead-up to its release, Billie poses for The FADER (wearing a ziplock bag on her head, no less) and opens up about that title.
“Where the fuck do we go?!” the teenager ponders. “I’m sure somebody’s gonna be like, ‘oh, it’s your brain doing this’ — but, like, you cannot give me a good explanation. I do not understand.” It turns out that the “Lovely” hitmaker has something of a fixation on sleep. “Dreams are a really intense part of my life. I’ll go through a month where I’ll have the same nightmare every single night — a dream that’s so bad that the whole day is off, or a dream that’s so good that none of it’s true.”
