Maren Morris is celebrating International Women’s Day in the most generous way possible – by sharing new music. The 28-year-old rolled into 2019 with a slew of accomplishments to her name. After fronting one of 2018’s biggest hits – “The Middle” – she picked up 5 Grammy nominations. At the ceremony she partnered with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves and country legend Dolly Parton for one of the night’s most memorable performances. Since then, the hitmaker has been refocusing on the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album – GIRL. She launched the era last month with the lead single and title track. The soaring anthem celebrates the bonds of sisterhood and features an empowering message.

“Girl, won’t you stop your crying? I know that you’re trying. Everything’s gonna be okay,” she vows. The single rocketed up Billboard’s US Country Songs chart, breaking into the Top 20 and made an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100. From there, Maren continued her hot streak with a pair of equally strong buzz tracks. She joined forces with Brandi Carlile on the evocative “Common.” An ode to setting aside their differences to recognize their similarities, it features one hell of a vocal performance from the pair. Next up was “The Bones.” Produced by Greg Kurstin, this one is a sweet tribute to a relationship strong enough to weather any storm. Out today (March 8), the rest of the album is just as strong.

Comprised of 14 tracks, there is no shortage of quality material on the tracklist. The country princess celebrates twangy rhythms on “The Feels” and links up with Brothers Osborne on the equally infectious “All My Favorite People.” The iconically titled “Make Out With Me” lands in the middle of the collection and delivers some vintage vibes while setting the scene for the remainder of the LP. After an initial listen, “Good Woman” emerges as a highlight. The sugary, loved-up ballad features some picturesque lyrics and a sweet message about the strength of a relationship. Strong from start to finish, it is easy to chalk Maren’s latest release up as yet another win. Press play on GIRL below and pick a favorite song!
