Labrinth, Sia & Diplo’s LSD Trip Continues With “No New Friends”
Labrinth, Sia and Diplo’s LSD project continues to go from strength to strength. After racking up massive streaming numbers with “Audio” and “Genius,” and releasing one of 2018’s most underrated singles with “Thunderclouds,” the talented trio is finally ready to release an album. We’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that (until April 12, to be exact), but they have kindly given us something new to listen to in the meantime. “No New Friends” arrived this morning (March 14) and it’s another stone-cold bop.
“I got all I need in a world of doubt, we got our champagne dreams in an endless drought,” Sia and Labrinth sing over piano keys and chunky beats on the catchy chorus. “We are the kings and queens seeking our aces out, we got all we need — no new friends now.” As with previous releases, “No New Friends” is a something of a hybrid that straddles the pop, club and dancehall worlds. With any luck, it could dethrone “Thunderclouds” as the collective’s biggest hit to date. Now we just need a killer visual! Listen below.
