Genres Collide On Sean Paul & J Balvin’s Sizzling “Contra La Pared”
EDIT: The post has been update to include the elaborate video.
Sean Paul has been churning out bangers since the turn of the millennium, and he shows no sign of slowing down. The “Get Busy” hitmaker just dropped a collaboration with Wiley, Stefflon Don and Idris Elba (!) called “Boasty” and now teams up with J Balvin for “Contra La Pared.” It’s a union that makes perfect sense. “He’s a star from the Latin world who has such a great knowledge and respect for Dancehall music so when the dons of Dancehall and Latin team up the result is pure fire!” Sean explains. José agrees with that assessment.
“Working with Sean Paul was a real blessing,” he says. “I’ve been a fan of his music for a long time, and since Reggaeton obviously has strong roots from Reggae, it was really exciting to bring our worlds together.” They do this by trading verses over one of the craziest beats to bless the radio in 2019. What’s next for Sean? “Later on in the year I have songs with Sia, songs with Rita Ora,” the 46-year-old told Zane Lowe. “I’ve worked with Raye… I’m just loving the vibe of it. It’s a one drop reggae kinda ting.” Watch the video below.
