Jake Miller Pines For An Ex On New Single “Nikes”

Jake Miller is poised for big things. The rising star has been laying the groundwork for a takeover since launching in 2013. After establishing a following with a slew of independently released singles, he attracted the attention of Sony. The 26-year-old currently has a deal and a breakout hit on his hands. Last year’s “Wait For You,” an electro-kissed anthem, is performing well on streaming services (4 million streams and counting). And a belated, arty video will likely extend its reign. That is just the start of what he has planned for the year. Today (March 15), the hitmaker returns with his latest single “Nikes” to sweeten the deal.

On the self-penned track, the Weston, Florida native is haunted by a relic of a former relationship – his ex’s forgotten footwear. “I still got your Nikes laying in my closet. Right there in the corner, teasing me,” he laments. Over an infectious production courtesy of Ryan Ogren, Jake pines for a return to the way things once were. However, he recognizes that a reunion is likely not in the cards and still struggles to toss the shoes. “Even though I know you’re gone, something keeps me holding on,” he admits. With any luck, the track will land him another hit. I’m also holding out hopes that another video is on the way. In the meantime, press play on “Nikes” below.
