“Sally Walker” Is Iggy Azalea’s Biggest Hit Since “Team”

Iggy Azalea is not playing any games with her comeback. Earlier this month the 28-year-old dropped her first single as an independent artist, and she has a serious hit on her hands. The J. White-produced “Sally Walker” peaked comfortably within the Top 10 on US iTunes and has amassed more than 4.6 million Spotify streams in only 10 days. Meanwhile, the accompanying music video is a viral sensation with more than 29 million views on YouTube. And those impressive streaming numbers are paying off. Today (March 25), it was revealed that the track debuted at number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100.

This makes for Iggy’s biggest hit on the chart since she dropped “Team” back in 2016. The rip-roaring anthem peaked just outside the Top 40 at the number 42 spot. With the right promotional push, it is easy to imagine the Survive The Summer rapper besting that record. In fact, it’s possible she may land her first Top 40 hit since 2015’s Britney Spears collaboration “Pretty Girls.” I’m hoping that the Aussie hitmaker is able to line up a televised performance or two. Doing so would all but guarantee a boost up iTunes and on the charts. Either way, it is clear that she is kicking off her new era with a certified smash.
