Leland Takes It To The Next Level With “Another Lover”
2018 was a massive year for Leland. Pop’s go-to songwriter penned a bunch of hits for other artists (including Charli XCX & Troye Sivan’s “1999”), scored his first movie and earned a Golden Globe nomination writing “Revelation” for Boy Erased. Those achievements set the bar very high, but it looks like the hitmaker is due for an even bigger 2019. The hits are already flowing from his golden pen (Lauv & Troye’s “i’m so tired…” and Galantis & OneRepublic’s “Bones”) and he could land one of his own with “Another Lover.”
Co-written with frequent collaborators Troye and Allie X, Leland’s latest is a loved-up electro-pop anthem. “And babe the sex is free, these hotel sheets,” he sings contentedly over dreamy synths. “And the world will freeze, but you and me go on and on and on.” The singer/songwriter then lays his cards on the table on the chorus. “I don’t want another lover but you, I don’t want another lover but you,” Leland promises. “And even if somebody said that I could choose, I don’t want another lover but you.” Listen to the blissful bop below.
