Jennifer Lopez Teams Up With French Montana For “Medicine”
Jennifer Lopez and heavy percussion just go to together, as previous classics like “Get Right” and “Do It Well” attest. The busiest woman in show business revisits that winning formula on “Medicine,” her new single featuring French Montana. After laying down the law in the opening verses over horns and finger snaps, J.Lo goes in for the kill on the instantly catchy chorus. “Think you need some medicine (yeah), I can be your medicine,” she sings over Stargate’s funky production. “Give you a taste of what you give out.”
As much as I love Jenny’s Spanish-language fare, this just feels more familiar to old-school fans. It’s also nice to get another verse from French. The rapper previously sprinkled a little magic on “Same Girl” and “I Luh Ya Papi,” and this track makes it a hat-trick of winners. 2019 is shaping up to be another busy year for Jennifer. In addition to chipping away at her much-anticipated 9th LP, she’s also starring in a new movie called Hustlers (along side Constance Wu and Cardi B).
