Dua Lipa stuns in a new photoshoot for Elle magazine. Out today (April 9), it sees the 23-year-old posing for Carin Backoff. Dressed in a series of chic, often voluminous looks, she delivers supermodel vibes in all the pics. In the accompanying interview, which took place several days after her Best New Artist win at the 2019 Grammys, she offered some insight into the status of new music. In particular, she revealed that her sophomore LP was ideally due out later this year or early 2020. “I haven’t decided my track list yet, but they’re all songs you can sing along to,” she admitted. “You make music so people can sing along, but you also make it to tell a story in the hopes that someone feels the same way.”

That’s not all, though. Dua also reflected on that time Wendy Williams mispronounced her name. The TV host went viral after referring to the hitmaker as Doola Peep. Instead of making a big deal about it, the “Swan Song” hitmaker shrugged it off. “I’ve learned to correct people about my name my whole life,” she said. “So I’m like, Call me whatever you want. You’ll learn it soon enough, babes.” She opened up even more later in a Q&A portion. “I don’t watch Wendy Williams, so it was my first time experiencing anything to do with her show. I was like, Who is this woman,” she explained. However, she added that it was not worth getting upset about.

“I try to take things like that super-lightly. You can’t take yourself too seriously, because you can get yourself into a right mess.” Those are definitely words of advice to take to heart. The interview also hits on her experience at the Grammys this year, supporting other women and more.
