Ellie Goulding is keeping very busy lately. The 32-year-old returned to the spotlight with last year’s “Close To Me,” and the hits have kept coming since then. She stunned on the haunting ballad “Flux,” collaborated with Clean Bandit on “Mama” and contributed a song called “Do You Remember” to the Fighting With My Family soundtrack. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. The soundtrack queen lent her voice to a collection for Game Of Thrones called For The Throne. She also linked up with K-Pop Queens Red Velvet for a remix of her still-growing lead single. And last week she dropped yet another new song – the nostalgic “Sixteen.” Today (April 17) she returns with the accompanying video.

In it, the hitmaker highlights the strength of relationships we forge in our youth. And it perfectly captures the tumultuous age perfectly. Ellie opened up about the song’s inspiration in an Instagram post. “I thought about songs dealing with new love, old love, lost and recovered, or never at all, and realised I’d never touched on the love that was found young and stayed. Some of my friends are still with the first person they fell in love with and that became my enchantment,” she explained. Things are coming together very nicely for the prolific pop star as she gears up to release her fourth album. And this is yet another win. Give the video a view below.
