Madonna & Maluma Will Perform “Medellín” At The 2019 Billboard Music Awards
The 2019 Billboard Music Awards just became must-see TV. Why is that? Because Madame X will take the stage. Today (April 19), Billboard confirmed Madonna and Maluma signed on to perform their slinky new duet “Medellín” at the Kelly Clarkson-hosted awards show on May 1. The duo has what should be a serious hit on their hands with the slinky opus. Since dropping Wednesday it’s amassed more than 5 million streams between YouTube and Spotify. The track will get a boost next week with the release of the accompanying music video.
And their first-ever televised performance is guaranteed to introduce it to an even larger audience. Madonna and Maluma join an already star-studded lineup of performers. Others confirmed to take the stage include the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Sam Smith and Normani, BTS and Halsey, Khalid, Kelly and more. That’s not all, though. This year’s ICON Award recipient Mariah Carey will also grace audiences with a medley of her biggest hits. All things considered, this is shaping up to be one of the best list of performers in recent memory.
Considering Madonna and Maluma’s exceptional chemistry and showmanship, there’s no doubt in my mind that “Medellín” will be a highlight of the show. Revisit the single below while we wait to see them in action.
