Madonna & Maluma's 'Medellín' Video
The Queen of Pop's blockbuster 'Medellín' video is a rousing act of rebellion.

Madame X, it turns out, is also a multi-millionaire. According to TMZ, Madonna is spending $5 million of her own money on her upcoming Billboard Music Awards performance on May 1. How is that even possible? Well, the Queen of Pop is reportedly incorporating CGI and holograms into her 7-minute spectacle. Given the budget and all the moving parts involved, the live debut of “Medellín” is already being touted as “one of the most ambitious performances ever attempted on live TV.” Her mind and bank balance!

Of course, with anything of this scale, a lot could go wrong. (Never forget the live debut of “Living For Love” at the BRITs). In order to prevent a mishaps, Madonna and Maluma have been rehearsing for a week. It will be interesting to see if the performance can give the duet a little boost. “Medellín” is off to a promising start, racking up 7.4 million streams on Spotify and 13.4 million YouTube views. They are decent numbers, but without radio support or a surge in downloads, the song will struggle to make the impact it deserves.

Check out some rehearsal footage below.
