We recap the highlights of Day 2 including Luke Combs, Sam Hunt and Cam.

With five consecutive number one country airplay hits (i.e. every song he has released), Luke Combs is the genre’s brightest new star. And the appeal is obvious. At a time when country is increasingly indistinguishable from pop, the 29-year-old is a throwback to old-school country. He sings about beer, broken hearts and… that’s about it. Which is oddly refreshing. After the massive success of his mega-selling debut LP, This One’s For You, the North Carolina native is back with another instant classic.

The amazingly-titled “Beer Never Broke My Heart” is an ode to the great, American longneck. “It takes one hand to count the things I can count on,” Luke laments in his trademark twang. “No, there ain’t much man that ain’t ever let me down.” However, there is one exception. “Longneck iced cold beer never broke my heart, like diamond rings and football teams have torn this boy apart,” he croons on the chorus. “Like a neon dream it just don’t know me, the bars and this guitar.” Watch the booze-tributing video below.
