Alessia's 'Growing Pains'
Alessia Cara returns with 'Growing Pains,' the first taste of her sophomore LP.

Edit: The post has been updated with the video for “Querer Mejor.” Watch it below.

The crossover success of artists like J Balvin and Maluma wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of artists like Shakira, Ricky Martin and Marc Anthony in the late ’90s and early ’00s. It’s only fitting then, that they also reap the rewards of the second Latin Wave. Juanes, another member of that pioneering group, plans to do just that. The Colombian superstar is teaming up with Alessia Cara for a new single called “Querer Mejor.” It’s the second time they have collaborated after featuring on the Latin remix of Logic’s “1-800-273-8255.”

Juanes kindly shared a snippet of the song and it’s a romantic ballad about finding your soulmate. It goes without saying that they both sound great (Alessia’s grasp of Spanish is impressive) and the lyrics are suitably flowery. The (somewhat) unlikely duo could be sitting on a surprise hit. “Querer Mejor” drops on Friday (May 24) along with a video filmed in Madrid, Spain. The ballad is the latest cut from Juanes’ upcoming 8th LP, which is expected to arrive later this year. Watch the video below.
