This week’s New Music Friday is filled to bursting with high-quality bops from exceptionally talented women. The lineup includes the likes of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX, Tove Lo and more. Very exciting news it that VÉRITÉ is also in the mix. It’s been two years since the New York native dropped her debut album – Somewhere In Between. Today (May 31), she launches a new era with the release of her single “gone.” And it is a staggering ode to the moment in a relationship when everything ends. “So leave the clothes and mess we made up all on the floor,” she pleads on the chorus.

“‘Cause when we put them on, we’re not in love anymore. ‘Cause I know when we go, we’re really gone.” She opened up about the emotionally riveting song in a press release. “Gone is about the moment before an inevitable shift. It’s the feeling of sitting still, taking in your surroundings, and burying yourself in a final scene. It’s about accepting an action as simple as getting dressed can delineate an end,” she explained. “It’s about leaving something/someone you’ve known behind and how the massive swell of frenetic potential energy that is all encompassing in that moment becomes a tiny blip in retrospect.”

“It’s about being done and moving on. The sentiment is simple, the reality – overwhelming.” If this is indicative of the quality of the rest of the material VÉRITÉ has been working on, her sophomore LP is going to be an absolute gem. Press play on “gone” below.
