UPDATE: Madeon returns with a trippy video in support of “All My Friends.” Watch it below.

PR & Madeon's 'Shelter' Video
Porter Robinson and Madeon's dreamy 'Shelter' video is an animated fairytale.

With the exception of “Shelter,” his shimmery, starry-eyed collaboration with Porter Robinson, Madeon has kept a very low profile since dropping Adventure in 2015. Happily, the French DJ/producer made a welcome return on Friday (May 31) with a new single called “All My Friends.” The first taste of Good Faith (release date unknown) is a dreamy nu-disco anthem that features Madeon’s own vocals. “[It’s] a song I sang, wrote and produced,” he explains. “I wanted to make the kind of ambitious pop music I’ve always hoped I could make someday.”

“Tell me what’s going on, can you take me there?” Hugo Pierre Leclercq (his real name) sings in the opening verse. “Before the morning comes, can you make me care?” While the synths are warm and rapturous, there’s a shade of paranoia in the pre-chorus. “All my friends… been making messes out of silence, if we’re the same let me let go.” As successful as he is in the electronic world, pop fans are probably more familiar with Madeon’s production work. (He crafted Lady Gaga’s “Gypsy” and Coldplay’s “Always In My Head”). That should change with the arrival of “All My Friends.” Listen below.
