NY rockers X Ambassadors have a hit on their hands with “Hold You Down.” The latest cut from the band’s upcoming sophomore LP, Orion, is a moving ballad about loyalty and devotion. “No matter what, no matter what, I’m yours,” frontman Sam Harris sings over a piano arrangement. “Lows and the highs, highs and the lows for sure.” That takes us to the soaring, pop radio-friendly chorus. “We’ll be the last ones dancing when the lights go out,” he belts. “When there’s no one to hold you, I will still hold you down.”

“[It’s] a song about devotion,” Sam explains. “Saying to that one person, those people in your life, ‘no matter what happens, I will always be there for you.’ My brother and I have lived through a lot together over the last 30 years, so I dedicate this one to us.” Of course, he’s referring to brother and bandmate Casey Harris, who was born blind. The band also rolled out a video, which is comprised of footage taken from home movies of the brothers growing up in Ithaca, NY. Orion drops on June 14.
