Mason Ramsey’s rise to stardom continues with the release of his new single “Twang.” The 12-year-old has come a long way since a video of him singing in Walmart went viral last April. After attracting the attention of major labels (he’s currently signed to Big Loud Records and Atlantic Records), he launched a career in earnest with his debut EP Famous. And it was a certified smash. Its lead single (the title track) went Top 5 on Billboard’s country chart and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. Nearly one year later, the crooner is back for a new era. And he’s kicking it off with a catchy anthem.

Over a lush instrumental, Mason counts off all the reason’s his girl loves him. “She likes how good I pick a guitar. And she likes when I play her my songs,” he sings. But, really it comes down to his very distinctive voice. “She loves me for twang,” the teen declares. “When she hears me on the radio, she knows that it’s me by the way I sang. She loves me for my twang.” The accompanying video (directed by Justin Clough) also arrived today (June 14) and is appropriately cute. Set in a high school, it features a flirty and rebellious plot as Mason succeeds in winning over a crush.

It’s the kind of video that could very easily go viral and help the rising star land another serious hit. Watch Mason in action below and let us know what you think.
