Post Malone Taps Young Thug For New Single “Goodbyes”

Post Malone just keeps winning. The 24-year-old has been on quite the hot streak for the last two years. Since claiming his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rockstar,” he’s pulled off the feat two more times. First with “Psycho” and most recently with “Sunflower.” Along the way the rapper also netted several other massive hits including his most recent single “Wow.” And today (July 5), he partnered with Young Thug on what will very likely be his next release to climb the charts – “Goodbyes.”

True to form, his latest is another insanely catchy bop that will be stuck in your head for days on end. Over a production courtesy of Brian Lee and Louis Bell, Post laments the end of a relationship. “Say you needed this heart, then you got it. Turns out that it wasn’t what you wanted. And we wouldn’t let go, and we lost it,” he laments on a verse. It all builds up to the evocative chorus. “I want you out of my head. I want you out of my bedroom tonight,” he pleads. “There’s no way I could save you, ’cause I need to be saved, too. I’m no good at goodbyes.”

The accompanying video (directed by Colin Tilley) is equally bleak and surprisingly bloody. In it, Post is stabbed to death within the first minute. However, he digs himself out of the grave and haunts a town (and revisits what appears to be a former lover) as a zombie. Give the future hit a listen and check out the video below.
