Jason Derulo's 'Swalla' Video
Jason, Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign get freaky in the candy-colored visual.

Jason Derulo has been chipping away at his fifth LP, 2Sides, since at least 2017. The pop star landed a huge hit with “Swalla,” but experiences diminishing returns with subsequent singles like “If I’m Lucky” and “Tip Toe.” That might change with the arrival of “Mamacita,” a bilingual banger featuring Farruko. Produced by Digital Farm Animals, the track finds Jason surfing the Latin wave that has swept the music industry. From the reggaeton beats to the Spanglish (and very sexy) chorus, this is very much on-trend.

“Excuse me for filthy things I might say, it’s your fault your body makes me that way,” the 29-year-old declares in an early verse. “I know some games you might wanna play and I’m gonna wanna.” He makes a move on the pre-chorus. “Why you dancing in here solo? Say you from Santiago,” Jason ponders on bone-rattling beats. “Anywhere you go, I follow —
I’ll even learn a little Spanish.” What a guy! When you factor in the simple but effective chorus, and Farruko’s killer verse, you have all the ingredients for a summer hit. Listen below.
