Her First #1? Billie Eilish Drops “Bad Guy” Remix Featuring Justin Bieber
Lil Nas X’s all-conquering “Old Town Road” rocked the status quo when it blocked Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” for reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s only fitting then that Justin could be the (not-so) secret weapon that helps dethrone him. The pop star, who has been hinting at a relaunch for some time, jumps on the remix of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” The track is already sitting at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, which makes this a rather cynical grab for #1. But all’s fair in love and pop.
For what its worth, “Bad Guy” works perfectly well as a collaboration. Justin assumes the role of the titular character and lists his credentials in his verse. “Gold teeth, my neck, my wrist is froze (So icy),” he boasts. “I got more ice than, than the snow.” Ok, that lyric is a little questionable. But it gets better. “Tattoos on both my sleeves,” the remix king continues. “Yeah, I don’t sleep, please don’t wake me.” The only thing that can stop this for reaching #1 is “Old Town Road” and — plot twist — it looks like Lil Nas X is releasing a remix too.
