Kane Brown Interview
We chat with the rising country star about Stagecoach and 'The Experiment.'

Kane Brown does country differently. From his willingness to collaborate with artists across multiple genres (he has recorded bops with Khalid, Becky G and Marshmello) to his knack for incorporating diverse influences into his own music, the 25-year-old is one of the most exciting proponents of new country. Take “Like A Rodeo.” The subject matter of Kane’s latest couldn’t be more traditional, but the phrasing and production is very much on-trend. “I picked you up with a cowboy nod at the hotel bar,” he begins the song. “It was less than eight seconds, girl, you stole my heart.”

“We had drinks and smokes, played your songs on guitar,” the “Heaven” hitmaker continues. “I was crazy out the gate and you were wild from the start.” That leads us to the ruthlessly catchy chorus. “Love is like a rodeo, tryna see how far we go,” Kane croons. “After one touch, became obsessed with the rush.” Given the momentum behind him and the quality of the song, it’s no surprise that “Like A Rodeo” climbed straight to number one on iTunes. The belated addition to The Experiment could end up being the album’s biggest hit. Listen below.
