It’s Coming! Lana Del Rey Offers An Update On Her New Album

It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for Lana Del Rey to bless us with her new album. The 34-year-old announced the iconically titled Norman Fucking Rockwell (her sixth LP) last September. The news came following a string of late-summer singles including “Mariners Apartment Complex” and “Venice Bitch.” “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have — but i have it” arrived this January and was billed as a “fan track.” Since then LDR’s graced us with a dreamy rendition of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” and announced a collaboration with Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus. But she’s kept her lips sealed regarding a full body of work.

That changed over the weekend. During a set at Spain’s FIB Benicàssim Festival, the chanteuse teased an imminent release date. And it is much sooner than we’d expected. Before launching into “Mariners Apartment Complex,” fans captured video of Lana saying the album was “coming out next month.” That means we should be listening to Norman Fucking Rockwell in as few as 40 days (assuming it drops before the final day of August). We don’t have many specifics about the LP just yet. However, back in September it was expected to house around 11 songs.

One of those will be the title track, which Lana described as being “kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he like won’t shut up talking about it.” If you ask me, that already sounds like an absolute classic. Revisit the equally brilliant “Venice Bitch” below while we wait for some hard news about a release date.
