UPDATE: Lil Nas X teamed up with RM of BTS on yet another remix of “Old Town Road.” Give it a listen below.

It’s official. Today (July 22) Lil Nas X notches his sixteenth week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Old Town Road.” The news comes following the release of his latest remix of the country/trap fusion featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Young Thug and Mason Ramsey. Additional streams from the updated track, its accompanying video and continued dominance on US iTunes were enough to help the Atlanta artist hold Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” off for another week. In doing so, he ties a record for the longest run at the number one spot.

The only other songs to hold the top spot for this long are Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito.” Now Lil Nas X is turning his attention toward breaking the record with a seventeenth week. And he may do that with another remix. In the last few days, he’s proposed collaborations with everyone from Mariah to Dolly Parton, Megan Thee Stallion and (most recently) Peppa Pig. Yes, really. Lizzo also appears to be proposing a mash-up with her Top 10-smash “Truth Hurts.”

We’ll have to see if he is able to pull it off. In the meantime, revisit the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 below.
