Melanie Martinez’s sophomore album is shaping up to be as enthralling as her debut. The 24-year-old drops K-12, her follow-up to 2015’s Cry Baby, September 6. She’s pairing the LP with a self-written and -directed musical movie of the same name. That arrives in theaters for one night only September 5. Both see her reassuming the role of her alter ego Cry Baby. Only, this time she’s grown up and heading off to sleepaway school. Today (July 23), she confirmed the official tracklist and unveiled a trailer in support of the film.

With titles including “Wheels On The Bus,” “Detention,” “Class Fight,” “The Principal” and “Teacher’s Pet,” it is safe to say that the theme will be perfectly represented on the album. And, based on snippets we’ve heard, the songs are all sounding on point. Meanwhile, the film trailer offers a more thorough introduction to the eerie school. It also includes another taste of “Show & Tell,” which sounds like a slightly unhinged bop that I need in full as soon as possible. The alt-pop star opened up about the project in a press release.

“My heart is incredibly full,” she gushed. “To be able to show people what I’ve been working on these past few years, and to be given the opportunity to create a feature film and have full creative control over every aspect of this project is a huge blessing and I’m beyond grateful.” K-12 is available for pre-order here. Fans who order it via Melanie’s store before August 5 will gain advance access to tickets for a soon-to-be-announced headlining tour. Check out the K-12 tracklist and trailer below.
