Lil Nas X is not the only artist making history on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. Last week the Atlanta hitmaker notched a 17th week atop the chart with “Old Town Road.” The country/trap fusion is currently the longest-running number one, having bested Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito.” As he broke the record, Ellie Goulding collected a 14th entry with “Hate Me.” Her Juice WRLD collaboration debuted at number 82. In doing so, it makes her the British female artist with the most entries this century.

The 32-year-old’s first song to climb the chart was “Lights,” which peaked at number 2 in 2012. Her breakout hit remains her highest charting single in the US. However, she came very close to besting it with 2015’s “Love Me Like You Do.” Other notable entries include “Anything Could Happen,” “Burn,” and her first Calvin Harris collab “I Need Your Love.” Trailing closely behind is Adele who has collected 13 entries on the Hot 100. It will be interesting to see if Ellie is able to extend her lead whenever she gets around to releasing her new album. In the meantime, revisit “Hate Me” below.
