Meghan Trainor Wrote Too Many Love Songs, Delays New LP To 2020

Meghan Trainor ran into a problem while working on her new album. The newly wed (she and Daryl Sabara tied the knot in December) was writing too many love songs. “I think that was the only problem with writing the album,” she explained in an interview with Metro. She attempted to offset that by packing some of the romantic anthems onto THE LOVE TRAIN. However, this led to another delay on her long-awaited third LP. Titled Treat Myself, the project was originally due to arrive last year.

She opened up about why she decided to postpone it last August. “I’m in such an amazing place and I can’t stop writing songs… I’ve decided to move my new album TREAT MYSELF until I get everything out of my head and recorded in the studio,” she explained at the time. The LP is currently due to arrive early 2020. It’ll be interesting to see if it has a new title at that point. In the meantime, one thing is clear: Meghan is feeling herself while she works on new material. “I’m back in my sassy, confident world lately and it’s been really fun.”

In the meantime, I’ll be holding myself over by listening to her Playmobil soundtrack contribution “Run Like The River.”
