Normani is poised to become one of the biggest stars on the planet. The Fifth Harmony alum has been setting the scene for a massive takeover since linking up with Khalid on “Love Lies.” Their slinky anthem steadily climbed the Billboard Hot 100 last year, eventually peaking within the Top 10. Not only that, but it resulted in a very iconic, wig-stealing performance at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. She soared even higher on the back of her Sam Smith duet “Dancing With A Stranger” this year. And there’s so much more on the horizon. What’s next? A just-announced new single titled “Motivation.”

Taking to social media, the 23-year-old broke the news today (August 9). She kept things very simple by uploading just the cover art and release date: August 16. However, we know a little more about the track thanks so some press from earlier this month. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Normani revealed that Ariana Grande had a hand in writing the song. She also confirmed that a video has already been shot and shared this tantalizing tid-bit about the sonics. “It’s an upbeat [song]. It’s a feel good record,” she gushed. “It was the first opportunity that I had to have fun.

Based on that, I’m expecting a serious bop. Normani has even more to celebrate this month. The breakout hitmaker is also up for an award at the 2019 VMAs for her intergalactic “Waves” video. Hopefully she’ll take home a win during the ceremony. In the meantime, feast your eyes upon the glorious cover art below.
