Taylor Swift is rolling out another taste of Lover ahead of its August 23 release date. The 29-year-old confirmed plans to join this week’s New Music Friday lineup after picking up the first-ever Icon Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards. “There’s so much I’m excited about in the next 12 days until my album Lover comes out,” she enthused while holding one of the show’s iconic surfboard awards. “On the 16th, I have a new song called ‘Lover’ that’s coming out, and I’m so excited.” It remains to be seen if this will be the next official single or if we’re in for another buzz track.

It’s seems like a quick turnaround from current single “You Need To Calm Down.” The track, which is up for several VMAs, is holding strong within the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, it is clear that another release is in the works. Taylor revealed that she was on set of a video shoot the day she dropped “The Archer.” If this is the next single, it seems safe to assume it’s the song the “ME!” diva will perform at the VMAs. The awards show comes a mere three days after Lover drops and is bound to be a big moment.
