Taylor joins forces with Brendon Urie for a feel-good bop called 'ME!'

Taylor Swift could teach a master class on music promotion at Yale. When she’s not coming up with savvy exclusives or dreaming up multiple deluxe editions of albums, the hitmaker is making sure her new music cuts through the noise in the notoriously fickle digital age. Take “You Need To Calm Down.” The 29-year-old teased the track in her “ME!” video, roped in a gaggle to stars to appear in the LGBT+ community-supporting video and now drops a summery, upbeat remix courtesy of Clean Bandit.

The UK electronic outfit knows better than to mess with Taylor’s songwriting nous and biting message. They simply bring some sunny, island vibes to the production and implement a few vocal effects. It works well and should give the Joel Little-produced bop another streaming boost. At this point, “You Need To Calm Down” is shaping up to be a sleeper smash. (If you can call a tune that peaked at number two on the Hot 100 that). It has legs and is continuing to grow its audience on pop radio. Listen to the remix below.
